Sunday, January 10th, 2010 Officer , Thanks for coming out to investigate today. Here are the facts of the incident, to the best of my recollection: At approximately 11:30am this morning, I was walking my dog Roxy. I headed from my house at to Ken's Market, located on the corner of and . While walking back down , I observed two large black dogs that appeared to possibly be St-Bernard or Newfoundland type dogs. These dogs were both loose in a driveway on the East side of , between and where turns into . We were on the West side of the street. One dog rushed us from the driveway, while the other burst through the bushes located on the south side of the northernmost house on Street, right between that house and the next house to the South (the house on that reaches the corner of ). The dog that burst through the bushes proceeded to rush in our direction and bit Roxy on the neck. She let out an audible yelp. At this point, I yelled at the two dogs to get away. I was looking for collars so that I could try to control them (as they were obviously loose) and could not find any. Eventually, they retreated after I picked Roxy up and carried her further North on . At this point, another gentleman came out of his house and informed us that his dog and mother had also been attacked by these dogs around Christmas time. I took Roxy home, tended to her wound, and ventured back out to investigate so I could determine who the owner of these dogs was. After knocking on several doors of the northern side of , I came to the conclusion that the dogs were possibly from (a house where I had gotten no answer upon knocking on the door). I was informed by some neighbours that this house actually belonged to the people who lived one house East of it, but knocking on their door also yielded no result. While heading back home without finding the owner with certainty, I rounded the corner onto only to see that one of the dogs was once again loose. I took pictures of the dog from across the street when it decided to run across the street to my position and lunge at me. I stood my ground as the dog came within less than a foot from me and yelled at the dog to go away, at which point it did so. Upon my return home, I once again examined Roxy and noticed that her wound was a little deeper than I first thought. I then took her to Delta Animal Hospital, where she received stitches. Upon returning from that outing, I contacted the Surrey animal control line, which put me in touch with the RCMP. Please find enclosed: Two pictures of Roxy's wound (one close up and one showing the location) Four pictures of the loose dog from roughly 12-12:30pm. Still forthcoming: A scanned copy of the veterinarian bill. Thanks for all your help, and please do not hesitate to contact me for further information. I can be reached at: Home: Cell: Phil Boutros
